Stellenbosch

Today we visited one of the oldest South African towns, Stellenbosch, which was an experience that I will never forget. We started off the journey by leaving Cape Town at 9 AM.  We got there and met our tour guide where we then visited the historical town of Stellenbosch.  The very first thing we did, which took me by surprise due to the earliness of the event, was a wine tasting event.  Even though I am not a fan of wines, I enjoyed tasting many of the different wines that this winery had to offer. The next event was tea sampling. I have never been a big fan of teas but these had a different taste to any of the previous teas that I have ever had. After a day of touring the city of Stellenbosch we went to the oldest hotel in South Africa and ate lunch.  We ate Ox’s Tail as well as had more wine. By far my favorite part of the day was visiting the Dornier winery. The view there was magnificent and was second to the view of Table Mountain. We sat there for a while before going to a dinner. There a lot of people made fools of themselves dancing on the stages with the Africans and eating native African food.
