Stellenbosch

Today we went to Stellenbosch to study the history of the town and experience their culture by eating local food and tasting local wine.  We visited the oldest house in the town that survived the fire, and we saw part of the university known as the Angel Factory.  The Angel Factory was a theological seminary and was the oldest part of the school.  The city of Stellenbosch reminded me of Charleston because of the architecture and since it underwent a natural disaster.  I was able to try new foods such as ox tail, impala steak, and springbok sausage.  The visit to Stellenbosch helped me gain an understanding to the culture of South Africa.  My favorite part of the day was visiting Dornier Wines where we had an incredible view of the mountains and vineyards as we tasted several wines.
